Just expressing my gratitutde here.

I am often caught between worlds: publishing with Flash and coding with Flex, and going back and forth between the two drives me up a wall. It sometimes takes Flash CS3's "improved" interface 15+ seconds just to activate, so that I can _then_ publish. Wash, rinse, and repeat 30 times while debugging, and it becomes a demoralizing cycle.

This is going to speed up my workflow and prevent atleast a few uttered curse words a day. Here's to regaining sanity ... Thank you!

@Patrick Palmer

Thanks for that fix. I have incorporated it into the latest release (which adds support for Flash CS3).

In Flash CS3, compiler errors do not go to the output panel. Changing the flashcommand to support this by adding the line:

jsfl.append("fl.compilerErrors.save(logFile, true);\n")

after writing out the output panel

FlashCommand gives error: "You must specify an action." But the help file doesn't give any available actions. Can you post an example about how to use the -e flag?

Hey,

How do I put the FlashCommand file into my system so I can then perform the command line instructions? Where do I copy it to?

One more thing.. To make this easier i made a short shell script:
//
for file in `find . -type f -name "*.fla"`
    do
        flashcommand -p -y -s $file ${file%%fla}
    done
//
I found the -y parameter in the code that closes each Fla after publishing.

for file in `find . -type f -name "*.fla"`; do mv $file ${file%%phtml}php;done

I barely know what I am doing in the terminal, but i figured out how to get this to work on a folder of FLA's.

First, you need to be running bash. If you are not, open the Terminal preferences and change the shell to "/bin/bash".

Next, "cd" to the directory that contains your FLA's. This script will search subfolders as well.

Last, the command to apply the flashcommand function to all FLA files in the current directory.

for file in `find . -type f -name "*.fla"`; do flashcommand -pv -s $file ${file%%fla};done

This will publish EVERY Fla it finds, so it is very important to make sure you are in the correct directory.
