Update on Flash and iPhone development
As you have probably heard, Apple has updated the terms of their developer program license. In particular, section 3.3.1 has been revised and now allows developers to develop applications with a wider array of tools and technologies, including Flash CS5.
We have posted some more information on this on the Adobe Conversations blog. Speaking about the packager for iphone included in Flash CS5:
The feature is available for developers to use today in Flash Professional CS5, and we will now resume development work on this feature for future releases.
Christian Cantrell has posted a refresher on getting started with the packager for iphone, and I will be updating my FOTB session on optimizing Flash content for mobile to include information on optimizing content for iOS devices (joining the existing Android content).

k, so i’m an iphone developer now.

we have already sold many Flash developed apps in the Appstore
These two apps have been available since February 2010.

We are at the moment making some new cool educational games for the Android, now we will make sure to also add these to the AppStore :-)
Thx. Adobe

Hi Mike,
I guess we are all happy, perhaps this is great news to both, community and Adobe stock shares.
I seem the big questions now are: are going to have the libraries we need in CS5 which many of us bought for the “iPhone hope”, and does “we will now resume development work on this feature for future releases” means that we don’t have what we need until a next release?
We look forward to knowing more about it
Many thanks

Apple seems to also have removed the interpreter language which means Adobe could utilize the standard AVM2 runtime (way faster if Frash is any indication) instead of the AOT iPhone Packager version – and possibly add back AVM1 (this would be huge for some of my clients). I’d love to hear some info about Adobe’s plans with regard to these two possible changes (they’d both be fantastic).

That’s Fantastic news. Apple kind of ____ ( i won’t fill the gap myself) :)
Sounds like someone isn’t happy that the Samsung family products that support flash is coming out so there trying to save there ____ (please fill as well ;))
oh well at least now we can make cool flash games and not use that odd language objective c(I object to that language even if it makes me ‘not cool’ :) )
Thanks for the update Mike some people where talking about it but this is the confirmation for me.
Whats next the new ground breaking feature of ‘iphone 11′ support for flash ? :) ah I forgot it has a nice design so you can’t dish it. (yep yep i know i have an iphone as well but i’m pondering about the new Samsung devices they just look sick and with flash 10.1 support built in they sound like a much better deal).
p.s I have nothing to do with Samsung but I’m happy to finally have a phone/pad out there that isn’t telling me what i can and can’t do(or at least there not in your face about it).

Hi guys,
I see great potential in flash as a mobile development tool. However, at the moment we’re working on a mobile application for a high profile brand. We’ve done some tests and found flash based applications run really slow on Apple’s mobile devices.
At the moment we’re contemplating switching to xCode as a main development tool for this project.
Any thoughts?
