Flash Player 10.1 and Windows Phone 7

with 44 comments

There has been a lot of buzz in the mobile space lately, and I suspect there will be even more around Windows Phone 7 at next week’s Microsoft Mix conference. One thing I wanted to clarify as it may have been lost in some of the other news is that Adobe and Microsoft are working together to bring Flash Player 10.1 to Internet Explorer Mobile on Windows Phone 7 Series.

I dont have an eta or other specifics right now, but it is something that both Adobe and Microsoft are working closely together on.

  29. So when can we expect an integrated solution for Adobe 10.1 (or whatever version designation you want to label it) incorporating flash on a Windows 7 Phone platform?

  33. Based on the dates above this problem has been going on for over a year, is it a function of not selling enough of these phones? The fact that I would buy a windows phone counting on the dynamic development and updates that go along with MS products, I would have aticipated that a solution would have been on the market already. Lets get this going I have another 20 days to return this phone and I will do so and let your trading partner know why I’m returning the phone Both Samsung and AT&T,its not a hardware issue, its not that the phone is a peice of crap, its that we can’t use the phone to its potential because of a plugin really??????

  35. I have to agree with Pana511 I have had the windows 7 mobile now for 3 months and no flash player as advertised and there are not that many apps that you can get for this platform. This is a bunch of over marketed crap, misleading promises and well really hype. Okay if you like the office software that is okay and if your a gamer the xbox live is okay, but the graphics are limited so why not just play on a base system or cpu. What A let down I should have gone with the galaxy S or mytouch something android based. They seem to have won the support of all the app developers.

  39. Please Adobe, we need a Flash Player for Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango). The year is almost up and still we wait. It looks unprofessional that our clients can’t see material from our Flash server on their phones. Please please please!!!!

I have to respectfully disagree with my fellow posters. I am waiting on Adobe and Adobe only for Flash. Windows phone Mango works great!

We aren’t spoiled iphone users. We don’t blame the OS that a seperate company’s product is not available. I’m begging Adobe to add their great Adobe Flash Player to their great Adobe Reader already available in the Zune Marketplace.

  40. I bought a windows phone (Samsung Omnia 7) for my wife and myself 4 months ago and have been trying to get the flash player ever since. The I phone had the same problem but many websites such as the BBC have created a flash/Iplayer just for them and also for the google based phones but these websites dont seem to have anything for the windows phone.
rest of phone is great , just needs a flash player.
    Whats the hold up?
I have just updated our phones to windows 7.5(Mango) in the hope that a flash player might b included as it was avaliable for windows 6.5 but i still get the “your phone is not supported” message on your website.
Dont say you are going to do something and then dont do it!!!
