It was true back in the shockfusion/flashkit/werehere days and it’s still true today. Perhaps other industries could benefit from such openness and collaboration like Finance or Politics? …nah…

WOw coming from somewhat rude background of Java (where most of the guys think they are made from heaven) I feel better. Flex is my new platform of choice and like the experience.

Totally agree Mike.
Flash is awesome but the community is taking it to the stars!
So congrats to the Flash Community and Adobe that is helping it.

Yep! 100% right! And that’s the same outside of the United States! (if you want french or belgium beer ;))

I think it’s just because most of Flash/Flex developpers are first creatives & artists guys. They came to Flash not because they have to, but just because they were really enjoying it.

Another point is the Adobe vision:

It’s like asking help for a Windows user or for a Linux user,
You’ll allways have more answers from the linux community, even if Linux owns less users.

Keep our passion safe with your great stuff, and there’s no way for us to change the way we are doing :) (can’t wait longer for Thermo!!!!)

I know of other communities that do more or less the same, but member do not buy you a beer. That’s why I have chosen the flash community :) Seriously, he is right!

Came from director background and there was hell to pay if you dared ask how something was done… You had to pay your dues. I was shocked to find Andries Odendaal releasing his source to the public. Amazing! It changed the way I work and I am better because of it …

Absolutly agree to this. I remember him last year at the FOTB conference. I arrived very late at night. And the first guy I met was Keith. I first saw him one year before at the same place and his welcome was really nice! i was impressed he remembered me. Than we had a beer ;)
