Adobe AIR Express Install Resources
I am currently working on updating the “Adobe AIR for JavaScript Developers Pocketguide” (O’Reilly), and was looking for resources on deploying AIR applications via express install. If you are not familiar with it, express install allows you to deploy your application via a badge on your website. Not only will it install your application, but it will also install Adobe AIR if it is not on its user’s system.
Anyways, here are a couple of really good resources if you want to read and learn more about express install:
Deploying Adobe AIR applications seamlessly with badge install

Good links Mike, I’ve been looking at this for the past few days.
What I’m looking for specifically is a means to install AIR runtime and my AIR application from a DVD (Without having an internet connection) in a similarly user friendly and seamless manner.
Yeah, well, my marketing insist upon it I’m afraid :( . They love the online one (apart from the “it’s slow” comments. Grrrrr)
I’m happy to build a custom installer, but finding it difficult to find any information about how to test for AIR install in registry, command lines options etc etc, even when I’ve recorded registry settings pre/post runtime install and had a good poke through.
I’m also a bit unclear about the licence terms for redistribution of the runtime.
Is there anyone at adobe I could talk to for hints/advice/documentation about this?
Many thanks,
Jim.

Jim,
Information about redistributing the runtime is available at http://www.adobe.com/products/air/runtime_distribution1.html.

Hello, I’m wooyaggo.
I’m AIR Developer in Korea.
I’ve saw you in MAX Conference^^
What I want to say,
I made some interest application.
I call it as “Capture for Messenger”.
As you guess, it is AIR Application.
Sometime I wanna show my desktop or web-browser to my friend through messenger.
But it isn’t easy, run photoshop or window painter,
paste~
cropping~
save image to jpg file~
it’s very complicated.
So i made it.
Just 3 step.
1. Capture (press Printscreen key)
2. run “CaptureForMessenger” application.
3. Make a selection and Drag&Drop into messenger.
then you can send a image.
I hope to show you this.
My post and Install Badge is here : http://wooyaggo.tistory.com/119
Thank you^^
(I’m so worried about you can understand what i said… )
(If you wrote reply to my website, It must be my honor^^)

Hi ,
We have a intranet website and there would be no access to internet . I understand that the air.swf can be hosted in webserver. But iam not sure how to build the badge.swf after making the necessary changes to AIRBadge.swf
Should i do these build using flash CS3 professional to build a customised badge.swf ?
