Is scroll-wheel supported in Flex-based apps?

We’re seeing problems with LoadVars under Safari on Leopard.
We have a remoting protocol carried on a LoadVars.sendAndLoad. Have had no problems with it on any OS/browser/Flash version (8 and 9). But with the installation of Leopard, the sendAndLoad operation is failing.
A trace around the sendAndLoad/onLoad handler shows that the onLoad handler fails to fire either with success or failure. A trace through Charles HTTP proxy shows an exception “Client closed connection before receiving entire response”.
Any thoughts?

For the records, I’m answering my own question.
The debug version of the latest flash player can be found in the “runtime” folder of the nightly builds of the flex SDK, here : http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/flex/sdk/flex3sdk.html
HOWEVER, in the latest SDKs, neither the installer nor the flash player won’t launch, at least on my Macbook Intel / Leopard !! (is the team aware of this ??).
That’s a pity because the debug version with the fixed FileReference bug is in there. Here is the trick to install it anyway :
You have to duplicate the “Install Flash Player 9 UB.app” that came in your original Flex Buider 3 beta (actually in the “Install Flash Player 9 UB.dmg”), enter the package, and replace the “Installer.data” with the one from the the sdk.
The installer will then install the latest flash player with the debug version.
Hope it helps.

Forget about my “neither the installer nor the flash player won’t launch” : that was a bug in Leopard :-/ It worked after a good restart !

I’ve had a few problems installing the player in Leopard with the installer from the DMG. I would get a privileges error at the last step.
So i allowed Firefox to install the plugin and all works fine now.

I really hope I am wrong, but…
Several of the FWA sites for 2007 (http://www.thefwa.com/pca2007/) seem to be broken by the updating the flash player to 9,0,115,0 I thought several of the sites on the list must be down or something now (like the cyborg one- it was only one page and nothing loaded beyond that and nothing happened).
The ‘Sammy the suitcase’ one worked flawlessly. However, then went to the ‘Steal the Glass’ site for ‘Got Milk’ and everything seemed fine until the vine challenge. The truck loaded, but no background. I was using Safari and it eventually crashed the browser twice. I am on an Intel Mac running 10.4.11 and Flash player 9,0,115,0 which as I said earlier, of this writing is the most current one. I then tried it in Firefox and had the same problem. I then booted in Parallels and ran it on Firefox off a Win XP installation. It worked fine. The background loads, and the game plays fine.
However, I looked at the Flash Player version. It was much older like 9,0,24,0 or something. I then updated it to 9,0,115,0 and guess what? It broke the app again. When you get to that first vine driving challenge, the background does not load and the game is no longer playable as you will continually die (can’t see where you are driving it is all black). So, question is, what is different at that point? The game loads fine up until then, so what is different that the new player could be crashing there? Also, is it the player? It seems really weird if it is, and the first time I can remember really ever having a problem with a player not playing older content flawlessly since Macromedia (and now Adobe_ always strived for backwards compatibility with the player updates. Has anyone else complained of this?
Really horrible if it was the player flubbing backwards compatibility and breaking the sites. Especially since if so, it just broke top ten FWA sites. I am hoping this is not the case or if so, fixed soon. Bad for business for all of us if not playing previous version content well.

Have a read of the security issues that have been added on th e new release here http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashplayer/articles/fplayer9_security.html
It has broken some of my work on firefox but not on ie, this was supposed to just show errors on this update and the next update was going to impliment them - not break a site.
I understand security is a big deal for all our reputations but I dont think this one has been thought through properly, certainly not with the developer in mind.
