mikechambers.com now hosted at MediaTemple.net

with 5 comments

Just a quick note, but I have changed hosting providers for my weblog. The transition should be pretty seamless, and if you are reading this, then you are all set. It might take a day or two for the DNS to update.

The weblog is now being hosted by MediaTemple. They were one of the partners of the on air tour, and hosted the website. They gave us excellent support, and thus when I started to look for a new host, they were the first people I contacted.

The transition should be pretty smooth, but if you run into any issues, just leave a comment on this post.

  4. Too bad they are still running ColdFusion 6.1 and they have been lying for years saying that they were going to upgrade it. If I didn’t already have many clients hosted on it through my DV server, I would run away and try to recover damages from them misleading me for all these years. I even remember a colleague of yours warning me to stay away from MediaTemple because they always seemed to blame Macromedia for ColdFusion problems, when it was really their own fault.

Here are two notes that say they are going to have 7 or 8 running soon:

(How could both be true - look when those answers were written.) They have been saying that for a very very long time now.

Anyway, I am still their customer, but only because I don’t have the time and money to transfer 30 clients worth assets and email address (don’t even get me started on PLESK).

Hope you have better luck, maybe they will treat you better or at least not imply an untruth to you.
