Creating Apollo Applications using Flash CS3

with 7 comments

Now that Flash CS3 is available, a lot of people have been asking when they will be able to author Apollo applications with it. We are working closely with the Flash Authoring team on a set of extensions that will make it easy to author Apollo applications directly within Flash CS3.

However, you can author Apollo content from within CS3, but it does require a bit of hackery. Fortunately, Guy Watson has released an extension for Flash CS3 that makes it much easier to test Apollo content directly from Flash CS3. So, if you are loving Flash CS3, and are interested in Apollo, then check out Guy’s extension.

Ill post more info on the time line for the Apollo extensions from Adobe as the information becomes available.

  4. Great post. I’ve been using Flash CS3 to build an rather large Apollo app and it’s been all comand line hacks. LOL… this extension will certainly make it a lot easier!!! Cheers mate!!

  5. This is awesome!!! I added the extension and all worked well, my only question is, how would one go about actually compiling the apollo app into the final output (the .air file). Can you only do this through flex builder or the flex sdk? or do you use the apollo sdk? Thanks!!

Use the ADL commandline tool in the SDK.
